What is an mp3? It's a song that's been rip off a cd and compress. What does it means? Well you take a song from the cd and put it on your hard drive, it will take a certains amount of space. If you compress it in mp3 format, it will take 10 times less space. That's what mp3 are and for what they were created. It's simply the best way to keep songs or music on your computer. To benefit from this great technology you will need some software. The first that i recommend strongly is the mp3 player made by winamp. It's a shareware, but it's the best mp3 player that i've seen.


	You will find the winamp mp3 player at the official WINAMP site. You will also find a lot of cool stuff that you can use with the winamp mp3 player. Skin that change the look of the player and plug-in that create nice 3D effect. Very easy to use and install, it's the best you can get.

Now that you have an mp3 player it's time to found some MP3. The first and easy solution is to look on the web. There's not a lot of song out there but it's easier when you start. Two great site where you can find some good songs are AUDIOFORGE and AUDIOFIND. Try them, if you don't find what your looking for i recommend FTP or HOTLINE. If you search on hotline just use the search engine The Snitch or Hotline 411. For a search on FTP i use MEGA FRANCITE. It's a mega search engine that offer multiple choice of search engine.


	Sooner or later you will find the need to make your own mp3. One of the good software that you can use to do so is AudioCatalyst made by Xing. It's easy to use and it's very fast. The quality of the mp3 is good. I use it for the speed and the intuitive interface with the software.
